Jenn Burback Collaboration

Introducing Jenn Burback! She is a premium western wear designer creating custom apparel for her clients. She partnered with Mental Health Colorado to present her debut collection GENESIS.

I have partnered with Jenn to showcase the power of CLO3D. I have built one of her original dresses from GENESIS in CLO to illustrate the exceptional details and show how fit issues can be resolved.

To show how to solve fit issues, I customized the avatar’s measurements to a different size. Since this dress was not made for the new model size, it created a few fit issues. Read on for more details.

Overview

Dress Details

Jenn takes great care to make each piece in her collection special. This dress uses zippers, leather straps, beading and metal hardware.

  • Functional princess seam zippers can zip or unzip to show off your shoulders.

  • Hand beading at the front center panel creates visual interest.

  • Leather straps on the center front panel are attached with metal studs instead of stitching.

  • Front and back leather straps elongate the body.

  • Metal grommets guide the front and back straps through the neck.

  • Metal ends finish the leather strap bottom edges.

Before Alterations

These images show the digitized dress on the new model. The following issues arose on the new avatar size:

  • Gapping at front armhole.

  • Bunching under the back armhole.

  • Chest width and Waist width are too big.

  • Hip width is too tight causing bunching at the back waist.

After Alterations

See the finished product! All pattern modifications have been made to resolve the fit issues.

  • Chest and Waist width were reduced.

  • Hip width was increased.

  • Back length was shortened.

  • Dart manipulation to remove excess fabric at front and back armhole.
